Cocktail Recipe: Hot G&T

Image courtesy of Lisa from Pexels. Probably doesn’t contain gin. Just use your imagination!

The mystery miniature included in December’s Nautilus Smugglers’ Box gin club was some tonic syrup so the shipmates could make a hot gin and tonic. The Hot G&T is a modern update on a classic cocktail - the Gin Twist, popular in the 19th century, which consisted of gin, lemon juice, sugar and hot water.

Hot G & T

Ingredients

  • 50ml - Secret Garden Seasonal Gin

  • 25ml (half the miniature) - Jeffrey’s Indian Tonic Syrup

  • Sugar

  • Twist of clementine

Pour the gin and tonic into a heat proof glass or even just a mug. Fill with freshly boiled water. Add sugar to taste. I like to add 2 teaspoons. Garnish with a twist of clementine.
